Marcie Goldhar has been working in the area of high conflict divorce since 2002. Marcie has worked extensively with families impacted by separation and divorce. In addition, Marcie Goldhar was on the panel of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, a branch of the Attorney General from 2002 to 2019 where she provided reports to the courts and provided clinical assistance to Lawyers representing children in parenting disputes. Prior to this, Marcie worked in the child welfare field for 10 years at The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and Jewish Family and Child Service.
Marcie’s practical experience is enhanced by her academic accomplishments, particularly the earning of her Master of Social Work degree from McMaster University. Her thesis, entitled Legislating Emotional Harm: Interpretation and Practice, focused on the Child, Youth and Family Services Act. It was submitted to the Panel of Experts on Child Protection by His Honor Judge Main of the Ontario Court (Provincial Division). Legislative amendments ultimately proposed by this panel directly reflected the main conclusions put forth in her thesis.
